Altenew Get Well soon

Oh, hi!  I can't believe tomorrow is June 1st!  Is it just me, or is this year flying by really fast?  Anywho . . . I've got two cards to share today that came together pretty quickly and I love how they turned out!

I used the Get Well Soon stamp set from Altenew, and what I really love about this set is the sentiment, "Rest, Relax, Recover." I think it's perfect to create a card for someone who is recovering from surgery, or an injury.  But, there are also a few other sentiments that work perfectly to create a get well card if someone has the flu.  Versatility, folks. Gotta love that in a stamp set, right?

Here's a video, so you can see how they came together:

Sunny Meadow Fair

Oh, hi!  Is there anything better than going to a County Fair?  We used to go to the Del Mar Fair every year . . .now it's called the San Diego County Fair, but to me it will always be the Del Mar Fair.  As a kid, I loved the rides and the games.  As an adult, I'm more about the junk food. . . Australian Battered Potatoes, Fried Zucchini, Funnel Cake, Cinnamon Rolls . . . ah, the list goes on.

When I saw these stamps from Purple Onion Designs, I brought back so many memories of all the times I've been to the fair. . . oh, to be a kid again.

Anyway. . . on to the card:

I started out by stamping the the Cotton Candy Cart, Pinky (the pig), and the Large Tent onto a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock using Extreme Black Hybrid ink.  Then I masked off those images and stamped the Fairgrounds background stamp in Gravel Gray Ink.  Next, I started coloring.  Oh, yes, there is a "speed coloring" video, too:

Rainbow Mandalas

Oh, hi!  There's just something about a mandala in a rainbow of colors that makes me happy.  Okay, fine . . . mandalas, in general, make me happy with all their detail . . . so do rainbows with all the cheery colors.

So, why not incorporate both into a card. . . or two?

For both cards, I used the Calen Layering Dies from Birch Press Design.  The details are AH-mazing in all three layers, and they cut beautifully!  Of course, I wanted to do something a bit different, so I used Layer A as a stencil on the first card, and then used the inked up "stencil" to create the second card.

You can see how they both came together in the video:

Washi Tape & Die Cuts

Oh, hi!  I've got a card to share today that I created for a stamp club that I'm a part of.  The theme for May is to incorporate Washi Tape on our project.  And, I wanted to do more than just slap it on the card, so I gussied up a die-cut with it.  Okay, and I did slap a piece on the card, too.
