Bluebonnet Hello

Oh, hi! Bluebonnets pop up all over the place in Spring and they are so pretty! When I found this Bluebonnet stamp and die set from Pajama Crafter Stamps, I simply had to have it! Read on for more details about the card and a little bit of other stuff.

I stamped the bluebonnets onto X-Press It cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored with my Copics and then I used the coordinating die to cut it out. I stamped a white panel using the Messy Mesh background stamp from Whimsy Stamps and Catherine Pooler Tranquil ink. Then I used the Nested A2 Arches dies from Scrapbook.com to cut out the center of the messy mesh background panel.

I used liquid glue to adhere the bluebonnets inside the arch and used foam strips all over the back of the die cut panel and bluebonnets and adhered it to a piece of light purple-ish blue cardstock and adhered that to a darker purple-ish blue panel. I used the Hello die from the Hello Elongated Frame Die Set by This Calls for Confetti and cut it once from the darker purple-ish blue cardstock and twice from white cardstock. I layered the white "Hello" and then offset it a tiny bit and adhered it to the darker purple-ish blue "Hello." I adhered that to the front panel and then adhered the panel to a white card. Viola! All done.

Now . . .for the other "stuff." When I was giving my blog a bit of a facelift, I decided to remove all the ads. Personally, it always bothered me to have them on here. So, no more ads. I also think it keeps the blog nice and clean. The other thing I decided to do was reformat my "Favorite Places" list by just using bullet points with links. Again, I think it keeps the blog nice and clean. Which brings me to the next thing . . . the list of "Favorite Places" does link to each of those stores, however, none of the links is an affiliate link. My hope is that I inspire you to create something. My goal is to continue to support the smaller stores and I hope you do, too.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Wish Big Little Monster!

Oh, hi!  This monster birthday card was very much inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest created by a member of the Whimsy Stamps Design Team. I especially loved how she used the slimline die.

I started out by ink blending my background and then die cut it using the Slimline Stardust die by Whimsy Stamps. Some of the little stars stayed in place and I liked how that looked, so I left them. Next I colored up the cute little monsters from the Monster Birthday stamp set and I used the coordinating dies to cut out the monsters.

For the words, I used the Wish die from My Favorite Things and the Bold ABC die set from Whimsy Stamps. I cut each of them 3 times; once from X-Press It cardstock, which I colored with Copics, and twice from 100# cardstock to add a little bit of sturdiness.

Next, I adhered the background to my card base and then used foam tape to adhere all the elements. Viola! All done.

Everyone Loves a Parade!

Oh hi! How are you? It's been a while, I know.  And it's not because I haven't been stamping. . . I just haven't been posting. But, I decided that it might be time to resurrect this little blog of mine and I thought a card featuring the super cute stamp set Yankee Doodle Day by Pajama Crafters Stamps would be a good start.

I stamped all the critters and colored them up with my Copics and then cut them out. Yes. By hand. I had an idea for the background, but I didn't want to color all those images and then mess up the background and have to start all over. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

Anywho. . . .after I colored up and cut out the images, I worked on the background. My cardstock of choice for Copics is X-Press It, especially when creating backgrounds like this. I just find the markers blend much better (as long as they are nice and full of ink).

Once the background was done, I adhered those cute little critters to the background panel and then adhered that to my card base. Viola! All done!
