Isn't she the cutest??  I have a few more cards featuring her images and I'll get those posted as soon as I can.  I wanted to share this one first because I have a video showing how I colored her up. . . and how I turned her almost Bozo-the-Clown-Orange-Hair into a nice shade of Auburn.

Aaaannnnnndddd, I had a special guest help me out when putting the card together towards the end of the video.  He was kinda bossy on where I needed to put the glue. 😉

A Stinkin' Cute Skunk

Oh, hi!  I think it's safe to say that Spring has officially arrived here in Texas.  Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush are blooming everywhere and the weather has been quite mild.  So, with all of the wildflowers popping up everywhere, I decided to make a spring themed card . . . with a skunk.

I mean, really. . . how cute is that guy?

Anywhooo. . . when I sat down to color him up, I immediately went for my Cool Gray markers, but I wasn't quite getting the results I had hoped for.  I tend to be heavy-handed, so he kept getting darker and darker and I lost the detail of his eyes and rosy cheeks.  And, on top of that, the colors started to look a bit muddy because I over-blended it to death. 😳

So, I looked at my Copic Color Chart and decided to use Blue-Violet markers instead.  Yes, Blue-Violet.  And, ya know what?  I really like how that little guy turned out.

Yep, there's a video, too:

So, have you ever used "unexpected" colors to get the look you're going for? I'd love to hear about it!

Abundant (Floating) Petals

Oh, hi!  I was anxious to try the floating die-cut technique that Jennifer McGuire did on her channel, and I really wanted to use the Abundant Petals stamp set from Power Poppy . . . but, it's not a layering set, and I really didn't want to color all those flowers.

So, I decided to try a somewhat monochromatic-ish look instead. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out!

Oh, hi!  Have you ever had an idea in your head, and in your mind's eye it works out perfectly and then when you actually try it, it works out?  I love when that happens.  And that is what happened with this card:

Don't get me wrong. . .that background stamp by Concord & 9th is absolutely beautiful all on its own, but I really thought it would look super cool with big bold stripes on there, too. . . .kinda like vintage wallpaper.

It involves a few steps, but really, it's not so bad . . . and, here's the video (and this is my shortest video yet, I think) showing the technique I used:

I adore the bunny sets from Gerda Steiner designs!  They mix and match well together, and can be used for so much more than Easter .  . . although, I am kind of on an Easter roll right now being that it's less than a week away.

Oh, yes, there is a video, too . . . and I share a few tips on masking multiple images and how I tend to color . . . being left-handed, and all.

Hippity Hoppity . . .

Oh, hi!  I've got two cards to share today. One for spring and one for Easter using the super cute Hoppiness stamp set from Gerda Steiner Designs. These bunnies are ever so cute!

For the spring card . . . I couldn't resist having those bunnies peeking through windows. And I also couldn't resist having one of the bunnies be distracted by a butterfly. . . cuz that would be me.

For the Easter card, I did something a little different.  I mean, technically, all the bunnies in the set are  drawn to appear that they are peeking over something. . . but there is one bunny in the set that totally reminded me of an Easter egg . . . um . . . with ears.  So, here's what I did with that little guy:

And, there's a video, too:

Yep, three cards using one set from Sugar Pea Designs  I love the versatility of this set. . . and sometimes you just need to create a quick and easy card.
