Bold Stripes & Beautiful Flowers

I warned ya I'd be using the Beautiful Flowers stamp set by Simon Says Stamp a whole lot.

And this layout? Totally inspired by Kathy Racoosin's card that you can see right here.

And, this is pretty much a one layer card . . . sort of. Okay, fine, two layers because I thought the stamped panel would look really nice with a thin black mat behind it. Then I adhered that to a white notecard. . . but the notecard doesn't count as a layer, right?

I admit I was a bit nervous about drawing in those bold black stripes. Even with a ruler, I have a hard time drawing a straight line.  (I'm sure I've said that before!)  But when I saw Kathy's card, I just had to try it.

I think I held my breath the whole time I was drawing the stripes . . . and coloring them. When I finished drawing and coloring those bold stripes, I got to take a breath.

And then . . . I had to place that sentiment just so.  Yep.  I held my breath for that, too.

All that non-breathing was totally worth it because I'm really happy with how this card turned out.
