Christmas Kitties

Oh, hi! I've got a Christmas card to share today. And, I've been using a different card stock with my Copics and I love it! It reminds me of X-Press It Card Stock, but this stuff has a much better price point. I also got new desk lamps, and I talk about those in the video, too.

Lacey has a Letter

So, I did a short video on how I color pleats and decided to finish coloring the image and make a card.  After all, she is ever so cute!

I started by stamping Lacey has a Letter by Stamping Bella onto a piece of Neenah 110# Solar White card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Here are the Copics I used:

Dress - Y21, YR23, YR24, YR27
Hearts - E99
Petticoat - C1, E0000
Headband - YR27, YR24, Y21
Button on her Headband - Y21, YR24
Shoes - YR27, YR23
Buttons on Shoes - Y21, YR24
Socks - C1
Ruffles on Socks - Y21
Skin - E21, E00, E0000, R20
Hair E34, E37, E79
Ground - E42, E41

After I colored her, I used the Classic Ovals Dies by Spellbinders to cut her out.  Then I cut a piece of yellow card stock using the Classic Scallop Oval Dies, also by Spellbinders.

I used foam tape to pop up the ovals on a piece of patterned card stock measuring 4" x 5 1/4".  I adhered that to a yellow mat measuring 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" and finally, onto an A2 top folding card.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Coloring Pleats with Copic Markers

I decided to do a more in depth video about coloring pleats with Copic Markers because I brought it up in this video, but it was a bit hard to see what I was doing.

Enjoy!

Tiny Townie Patricia Loves Pumpkins

Woooo hooooo!  It's finally starting to feel like Fall here.  The temperature has dropped down to the 70's and we've had a fair amount of rain over the last week.  So, of course, with the rainy weather, I spent time in my craft room with my stamps and markers.

May I present to you: Tiny Townie Patricia.  She loves pumpkins.

And, here's the video to go with it. I go over how I finally figured out how to color pleats to make it easy for me.  I hope it helps you, too. Oh. . . and at one point while coloring the leaves, I said I used E34 to go over the leaves to blend, however, I actually used Y26.

Here are the supplies I used:

Tiny Townie Patricia Loves Pumpkins by Stamping Bella
Fall/Halloween Sentiments by Stamping Bella
Scallop A2 Honey Cuts by Honey Bee Stamps
110# Neenah Solar White Cardstock
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Tumbled Glass Distress Ink

And, here are the Copic Markers I used (listed in the order I used them in the video):

Dress - BG11, BG57, BG15, BG10
Polka Dots - BG49
Collar - BG57, BG15
Skin - E53, E51, E50, R00

Hello Gnome

Doesn't this little guy just make you smile? This stamp is Gnome Bouquet by Stamping Bella and there's a coordinating die, as well.

Copics used: Flowers - C1, C3, C5, Y11, Y13, Y15, YG03
Gnome Hat - R24, R27, R29; Gnome Face - E50, E51, E53;
Beard - W0, W1, W3
I used Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide Inks to create the background.  I die-cut "hello" three times from white cardstock and stacked them for dimension.  To add some sparkle, I went over the die cut with a Wink of Stella glitter pen.

Bess is Back

I decided to make another card using Bess the Butterfly with a totally different color palette this time.  I also used a past card sketch from My Favorite Things.

{Supplies used are linked in the text and thumbnails in this post.

I started by stamping Bess onto Neenah Solar White Cardstock and colored her with my Copics:

Dress: Y11, Y13, Y15 and Y08
Wing: BG10, BG23, YG00, YG01, YG03, Y21, Y13, and Y11
Flowers: I used Y11, Y21, and Y38
Skin: E50, E51, E53, R00
Hair: E23, E33, E35, E25, E27
Shoe: C5

The polka dot paper is from Memory Box that has been in my stash forever. One really good thing about creating so much is that I am definitely using up my paper!  The striped paper is from My Favorite Things.  I love their patterned paper!

I created the square frame using Classic Square Nestabilities and Classic Scalloped Square dies by Spellbinders.

I put it all together and Viola! It's a card!

A Fairy Garden Fairy

And here she is.  The stamp that I have been practicing coloring pleats.  Obviously, her skirt has no pleats.  For now, I have thrown my hands up.  But, I haven't totally given up because I'm still obsessing over learning how to do it without having it look like big raindrops as opposed to pleats in fabric.  And once I have my sights set on learning something, well, I will learn it.  It just might take a little bit of time.

Anywho . . . onto the card.  This adorable Fairy is by StampingBella.  She comes in a set with a few mushrooms and a perfect sentiment! After the whole coloring pleats fiasco thing, I decided to try and make her skirt look like a flower. I'm pretty happy with how she turned out.

Copics used: Hat and Skirt - V0000, V01, V05, V06; Top - Y21, YR21, YR23, YR24
Stockings - Y11, Y21, YR23; Shoes - V01, V05, V06; Leaves - YG01, YG03, YG17
Skin - E50, E51, E53, R00; Wing - BG0000, BG10, B000; Hair - YR21, YR23, YR24, E99

Super Moon Triad & A Gnome

Greetings!  Let's start with the cosmic stuff, shall we?

A friend of mine sent me this article about the Super Moon Triad and all the weird things that go along with it.  When I got to the list of what some of the "side effects" might be, I had an A-ha! moment.  Especially with "obsessing over little details" . . . whew!

I've been practicing coloring pleats with my Copics . . . and being that I've been obsessing over it, let's just say . .. um, I need more practice.

Anywhooooo . . . on to the card.  Today we have the adorable Gnome on a Swing by Stamping Bella.  I do love that he has a coordinating die.  It's a pretty simple card, but I really wanted all attention to be on that dude.

Copics used: Branch & Swing - E31, E33, E35, E37; Leaves - YG01, YG23, YG17;
Catepillar - BV000, BV01, BV11, BV17; Hat - BG10, BG13, BG15, BG09
Skin - E00, E51, E53, Shoes - YR04, YR07, YR18; Beard - C1, C3
For the tree trunk, I ran a piece of Kraft card stock through the Big Shot with an embossing folder.  I sponged a bit of Vintage Photo Distress Ink to bring out the wood grain.  The grassy border is a die from My Favorite Things.  (WHY did I wait sooooo long to order that??) And, of course, I had to sponge some clouds in the background.

The Super Moon thing is supposed to last through August. . . so, I'll be hiding in my studio until it's over.

Blossom Loves Balloons

Oh . . .here's another stamp I've had on my wish list for quite some time: Tiny Townie Blossom Loves Balloons.  The layout was very much inspired by a card created by Michelle Boyer that was on the Stamping Bella Blog.  All the girls over there are so talented!

So here we go with the card:

Copics used: BG10, BG13, BG15, BG18, YG23, Y11, Y13, Y15, Y08,
E50, E51, E53, R00, C7, W1, WR23, YR27, R59
I used a cloud stencil with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to create the clouds in the background.  And I decided to do some paper piecing on the balloons after I colored them and really didn't like how they turned out.  I thought the yellow polka dot paper from the Dots & Stripes Sorbet Paper Pack would be perfect. See? Easy fix! And, to add some shadows around the balloons, I used a W1 Copic marker.

Bess the Butterfly

Here's another sweet Tiny Townie Butterfly Girl from StampingBella. And I love the fact that there are coordinating dies.

Copics used: G40, G43, G46, E00, E50, E51, E53, E27, E79, Y21, YR24, YR27, YR23, Y11, Y13, Y15, Y28, YR20,
E37, E34, E35, R00
I wasn't too sure where I was going with the colors on this one.  I just knew that I wanted to use more earthy tones . . . which worked out quite well with the patterned paper I found in my stash.  And I found it pretty quickly, too.  I can spend a serious amount of time just digging through all my paper to find what I'm looking for. . . even though it's all organized by color.

What about you?  Do you choose paper first and then color images? Or vice versa?

Brianna the Butterfly

The color palette I chose for this card was very heavily inspired by a card I found on Pinterest created by Michelle Boyer.  Her color combinations are Ah-mazing.

And I admit, I was a bit nervous about using some of these markers together because I was so afraid of ending up with a muddy look.  But, lo and behold! I did it!

This stamp is by Stamping Bella.  Isn't she so sweet?!  I can't wait to try different color combinations, now that I'm feeling brave and all.

Here are the markers I used:

More Bunnies

Two more Easter cards . . . and I forgot to keep track of which markers I used for these, too.  Sheesh.

This guy is by Whipper Snapper Designs . . . I'd work for jelly beans, too. Or chocolate.  Or both.

This super cute dude is Hoppy Easter Bunny Wobble by StampingBella . . . and I would definitely follow him . . .cuz he has chocolate!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a Blessed Easter!

A Few More Irish Chicks

Oh . . .I dunno . . .they're just so fun!  So, I made a few more cards.

I did a little bit of masking for this card . . . and added glitter to the rainbow.

I tried masking for this card, but that didn't work out so well . . . so I just cut that little dude out with the coordinating die.

Irish Chicks

St. Patty's Day is just around the corner . . . and since StampingBella had these cute little guys on sale, well, why not?

Again. . . the card designs were definitely inspired by others that I saw when I consulted the Google.

A Garden Girl Birthday Card

Seriously, you guys . . . how cute is this stamp by StampingBella?!  When I first saw it, I just knew I had to have it. . . and the matching die, too!

I stamped the image on X-Press It card stock and colored it with Copics. . . all those tiny little areas . . .whew! My eyes were a bit tired after that.  Then I die-cut the stamped imaged and popped her up with foam tape for dimension.
