Oh, hi! Well . . . this is the last card for my 2018 Holiday Card Series. Although, I can't promise that it'll be my last coffee themed card. I've really enjoyed using this set! And, I do have a tendency to try and create as many cards as I can when I have a set sitting out on my table.
Anywhoooo . . . on to the card:

So, I had mentioned in a previous post that I was just kinda playing around with coloring blended coffee drinks. Had I not watched Sandy Allnock's video, I would've never thought to use pinks. I'm more of a chocolate blended coffee drink type of girl. And, yes, please add a bit of caramel!
But, I thought it would be fun to create a card using non-traditional colors and the pink drink fit the bill. And adding the "latte" at the end of Fa La La seemed fitting as well.
Oh, hi! My "personal" Christmas cards were done and mailed out over a week ago, but I'm kinda on a roll, so I figured I'd just go with it and make a few more.
{Supplies used are linked in the text in this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your support!}
I went for a more "clean and simple" look for these cards with lots of white in the background to really showcase the coffee mugs.
I also did a bit of "reverse masking" to add the trees to the red mug and the snowflakes to the blue mug.
. . . and, a gift card holder, too! You guys, I dug deep into the archives for this one! I used to teach this style of gift card holder when I had my store. It's pretty quick and easy to create and can easily be customized for just about anything. For this one, though, I had to do a coffee theme.
My inspiration came from a card I saw on Pinterest where the "To Go" cup was done up like Santa Claus. And, if there's a Santa, then there should also be a Rudolph. And ya know what? The Coffee Break stamp set by Honey Bee worked out perfectly! The images are just the right size!
{Supplies used are linked in the text in this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your support!}
A pocket is created on the inside that fits a gift card perfectly.
I started out by stamping the "To Go" cup onto red, white and black card stock using Extreme Black Hybrid ink from My Favorite Things. I cut out the whole cup from the red card stock, the lid from the white card stock and the "cozy" from the black card stock. For the buckle, I used two square dies and cut it from Gold Glitter card stock.
Then, it was just a matter of paper piecing to put it all together. Easy Peasy!
For the Rudolph cup, well, I gotta tell ya, I had colored the image before I even came up with this idea. I was just kinda playing around with coloring blended coffee drinks. I used pictures from Starbucks' website for a bit of guidance and then watched a video from Sandy Allnock for even more guidance.
Anywhoooo . . . after I put the Santa cup together, I stared at it for quite some time. . . and then I remembered that I had previously colored the blended coffee image. So, I set them next to each other and then started thinking about how I could turn the blended coffee drink into a Rudolph. Of course! Googly eyes and a red jewel. But he needed ears. So, I pulled out the stamp set again and lo and behold! There is a stamp of two little leaves. . . so I turned them into ears.
Oh, don't worry. . .. there's a video showing the whole kit and caboodle. The supplies and measurements for the Gift Card Holder are listed below, as well.
Supplies needed for the Gift Card Holder:
Card stock that measures 4" x 10 1/2"
A Score Board 1/8" Scor-Tape or 1/8" Red-Line Tape Rectangle Die, or punch, or a craft knife to cut an opening for the gift card
The measurements for the layers I did on the front are:
Red card stock - 3 3/8" x 2 3/8"
Patterned card stock - 3 3/4" x 2 3/4"
And, here's a list of all the other supplies I used:

Oh, hi! I'm back with another card for my 2018 Holiday Card Series. I can't believe Christmas is only 11 days away! Yikes! I still have a few things left to do. How about you? Are you ready?
{Supplies used are linked in the text in this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your support!}
So, I've created a few cards using the Fa La La stamp set by Honey Bee, but this is the first time I used Copics to color the bulbs. . . because how could I not? I mean, they are perfect to color! Am I right??
In the video, I share how I color the bulbs to get that reflective highlight. I hope you enjoy!
Oh, hi! I'm back with two more Christmas cards, although, this time I used a digital image. But don't worry, if you prefer a clear stamp, this image is also available in a set. Yes, that is one thing that I do love about Power Poppy. . . many of her images are available in both formats.
{Supplies used are linked in the text in this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your support!}
To get that nice "halo" around the poinsettia, I used a sponge
with Antique Linen Distress Ink
Now, there is a video, too . . . but I only show how I colored the image on the Desert Storm card stock. I used the same colors for both images. . . I mean, I had already printed it out onto Solar White card stock and the markers were sitting on my table, so I figured I might as well get two cards out of it, right?
Oh, hi! Are you ready for the hustle and bustle of the season? I was thinking about all the things to do for the holidays. . . decorate, shop, bake, cook . . . bake some more. And, then, I had this idea for a card.
{Supplies used are linked in the text in this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your support!}
I know, this isn't a "traditional" type of Christmas card, but every time I looked at the Fa La La stamp set by Honey Bee, I kept thinking of a big old pile of tangled lights. All I had to do was figure out how to get my idea onto paper.
Seriously, you guys, this idea has been brewing in my head for days. And, since my family has a weird sort of sense of humor, I had to inject a bit of sarcasm in the design, too.
Here's the inside of the card:
The red pocket fits a gift card perfectly.
Oh, don't worry. . . there's a video so you can see the whole process.
Oh, hi! It's been a while, huh? 'Tis the season for things to start getting really busy! So, this is a quick blog post to share two videos. All the products used are listed over on my YouTube Channel in the description below each video.
Oh, hi! How's the weather where you are? It's been switching between mild summer weather and fall weather, with a few cold fronts thrown in, here in Texas. But even those warmer days haven't stopped me from making Christmas cards.
{Supplies used are linked in the text in this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your support!}
For this card, not only did I use the Sweet Holiday Penguins stamps by My Favorite Things, but I also used the Blueprints 27 Die-namics. Talk about making a layout super easy! Where has this been all my life??
Oh, and there's a video, too:
I started out by running the window frame die and a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock through my Gemini Junior die cut machine. I needed it cut out in white so I could stamp on the white squares and rectangle.
To get those penguins in just the right spot, I put a bit of adhesive of the back of the squares so they would stay put in my stamp positioner. Then, I placed the penguins where I wanted them and stamped them using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
After they were stamped, I colored them up with Copics.
Now then. . . on to the rectangle. There are a few (easy) steps involved here. I used the Happy Christmas die twice. I cut it once from red card stock (for the letters) and once from white card stock (to use the negative).
I then used the white piece with the negative of the word Christmas and lined it up with the rectangle part of the window frame die from the Blueprints dies and ran it through my machine. Why? Because I can't draw a straight line with a ruler and I knew there was no way I was going to get those letters lined up or spaced just right.
So, now that I had my solid white rectangle and the white rectangle with the negative of the word Christmas, I used removable tape to hold them together so I could adhere the red letters to the solid white rectangle. After all the letters were glued down, I removed the negative and Viola! All letters are straight and perfectly spaced.
Now it's time to stamp the "Happy, Merry, Joyful" above the die cut letters. The only problem is that the stamp reads, "Happy, Merry, Joyful Christmas."
But there's a fix for that. I placed the rectangle with the die cut letters in my stamp positioner. I placed the stamp where I wanted it be and picked it up with the lid of the positioner. Then, before inking up the stamp, I placed a small piece of painter's tape over the word Christmas on the stamp.
With the painter's tape in place, I inked it up as I normally would. Before I closed the lid on my positioner though, I removed the painter's tape from the stamp.
Yes, I'm actually going to say it again . . . I removed the painter's tape from the stamp. Then I closed the lid and stamped the sentiment.
It's important to remember to remove the painter's tape before stamping because if you don't, you'll have a really nice blob of ink right where you don't want it.
Okay . . . after I got the (rest of the) sentiment stamped, it was time to put the card together.
I cut the big scalloped rectangle from red cardstock and then decided that I wanted a bit of contrast for the window frames, so I cut that from light blue card stock.
I adhered the blue window frame to the red card stock and then finished the "puzzle" by adhering the stamped squares and sentiment rectangle into the light blue frame. I then adhered that whole panel to a white A2 notecard.
For a bit of bling, I added some Star Dust Stickles on the hats on the penguins and went over "Christmas" with my Wink of Stella glitter pen. Ta-Da! All done.
Oh, hi! I had a whirlwind trip to San Diego last week, and next week, I will be on full Bridesmaid duty for my friend's wedding next weekend. . . so I thought I better get this blog post and video done. Besides. . . can you even handle the cuteness of these penguins??

Here's the video for ya:
I started out by placing the Happy Christmas die (which is the current Free with $60 die) in the center of a Neenah Desert Storm card stock measuring 5.25" x 4" and running through my Gemini Junior Die Cut Machine.
After I was done with the coloring, I did go over their little eyes with a fine tip black marker to re-emphasize them. The white colored pencil muted the black ink, so the pen was a quick fix for that.
Then I placed a mask over each penguin so I could stamp the Christmas Background stamp. I inked up the stamp using Memento Pistachio ink and then placed my stamped panel on top of it. I find it's easier for me to put the card stock on the stamp to make sure I get it straight.
After I stamped the background and removed the masks, I used a ballpoint glue pen on the fur trim and pompoms on the hats and used White Puff Embossing Powder to add some dimension. That embossing powder worked perfectly!
I adhered the stamped panel to a piece of red card stock measuring 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" and then adhered that to a white A2 notecard. I finished it up by gluing the centers of the letters on the Happy Christmas die and Ta-Da! All done!
Oh, hi! Whew, I went straight from Halloween cards to a Christmas card. Which is unusual, because I do make Thanksgiving cards every year. But when these little penguins showed up at my door, I just had to whip up a quick card because, well . . . they are just too cute!
{Supplies used are linked in the text in this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your support!}
So, I love the look of inlay die-cuts, but I don't have any alphabet dies, so for this card I used my Cricut to get that look. I even show you how I did it in the video:
So, after I cut out the letters, I used my stamp positioner to get that little guy in just the right place. He's from the Sweet Holiday Penguins set by My Favorite Things. Then I colored him up with the following Copics:
Penguin - BV29. BV25, BV23
Beak and Feet - YR15, YR18
Shading on his face and belly - BG0000
Wreath - G09, R29
Scarf - YG01, BG13
Ground - BG0000, C1
After I was done coloring, I decided it needed a background. So, I cut out a mask for the penguin and stamped the Christmas Background stamp in Sno-Cone Hybrid ink. It added just enough.
I adhered the stamped panel to a red panel and then adhered that to a white A2 notecard. I couldn't decide on whether or not to use the polka dot letters at first, but in the end, I'm glad I decided to use them.
Final step was to add a few sequins and Viola! All done!
Welp... here's the fifth and final card in my Witch Way is the Candy Halloween Series. I really enjoyed using this set and creating videos. I hope you enjoyed them, too.
{Supplies used are linked in the text in this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your support!}
For this card, I started out by stamping the kitty and witch from the Witch Way is the Candy stamp set onto a piece of 80# Neenah card stock measuring 4. 25" x 5.5" using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Then I masked the images and very lightly added a layer of Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink using a sponge. Then I taped the stencil down and used an ink blending tool with Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Ink.
After all the coloring was done, I trimmed down the stamped panel a bit and adhered it to a piece of black card stock and then finally, added that to a top folding purple A2 card.
Oh, hi! I'm back with the next two cards featuring the Witch Way is the Candy stamp set. Card # 3 went pretty smoothly, however, Card #4 was a challenge . . . I tried to use a ruler. Really, I should know better than that. . .they don't like me . . . which you can see in the video at the end of this post.
Anywho, on to the cards.
Here's Card #3:
{Supplies used are linked in the text in this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your support!}
This one is pretty straight forward. I traced the windows from the Stitched Triple Peek-a-Boo Windows die onto a piece of 80# Neenah card stock measuring 4" x 5.25". Then I stamped the images using Memento Tuxedo Black ink from the Witch Way is the Candy stamp set.
I stamped the sentiment in Memento Luxe Wedding Dress ink and heat embossed with white embossing power.
I used the same window die to cut the patterned paper, and adhered that over the stamped images using an incredible amount of foam tape. I adhered the sentiment using Tombow Multi Mono Liquid Glue.
Then I adhered that to a piece of black card stock measuring 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" and finally adhered that to a white A2 card. Ta-da! All done!
So, Card #4. You guys, this was seriously a hot mess. Not at first, but boy oh boy, I sure did have a few issues with this one towards the end. This card right here is further proof that pretty much anything can be fixed.
I started out by tracing a rectangle using one of the A2 Scallop Frame dies from Honey Bee Stamps so I would know where to stamp the kitty and pumpkins. I used a stamp positioner to get them in just the right spot. . .and I did a bit of masking too so the kitty would be in front of the pumpkins.
Oh, Hi! It's been a minute or two since my last post, but I had this grand idea to create five cards with one stamp set and of course, a video to go along with it. However, one video would have been almost an hour long, even with all the coloring sped up quite a bit, so instead, I'll be doing a series of 3 blog posts (and videos).
{Supplies used are linked in the text in this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your support!}
Here's the video for the first two cards:
And here is the first card:
To get started, I stamped the frog and pumpkins from the Witch Way is the Candy stamp set onto a piece of scratch paper to get an idea for placement. Once I was happy with that, I created masks for the frog and the pumpkins and used my stamp positioner to stamp the images on a 4" x 5.25" panel of Neenah Solar White card stock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
After all the stamping was done, it was time to do some coloring!
Frog - G99, G94, G43 and YG93
Pumpkins - YR27, YR15, YR12
Shading around the small pumpkin - W3, W4
Ground - E43, E42, W4
The striped paper is from the Black and White Basics paper pack from My Favorite Things. But, I decided that I wanted it to be black and orange instead of black and white, so I used my Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink and mini ink blending tool to change the color.
I adhered that on top of the stamped panel and trimmed down the excess. I added a strip of black card stock to cover the seam from the patterned paper. Then I mounted that onto a piece of black card stock measuring 4 1/8" x 5 3/8". I adhered that to a top folding white card base and to finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment on a piece of white card stock and attached it with liquid glue. Ta-da! All done!
Next up, Card #2:
I started out by stamping and coloring the witch on a white panel. I decided after I had her all colored that she needed a buddy, so I masked her off and stamped and colored the frog.
Here are the Copics I used:
Hat and Cape - V12, V15, V17
Buckle on the hat - Y08 and Wink of Stella Glitter Pen
Dress, Band on Hat and Tights - YG01, YG03, YG17, YG25
Broom Bristles - Y21, YR23, YR27, E09, E99
Broom Handle - E31, E33, E27
Skin - E21, E00, E0000, R20
Hair - 100, BV23, BV25, BV29
Boots - C1, C3, C5, C7
Frog - G99, G94, G82, G40
Ground - E43, E42
After I was done coloring, I cut the panel down to 2 3/4" x 4" and lightly inked the edges the with black ink.
Once I had it loaded on my digital mat, I resized it to 4.25" 5.5" so it would cover the front of my card. Sent off to my Cricut to be cut from black card stock and Viola! A really cool background!
I used a Ball Point Glue Pen around the edges of the die cut and a few dots of Tombow Multi Mono Liquid Glue in the centers of a few of the spider webs to adhere it to the front of a green top folding card.
I adhered the stamped panel to the front of the card and Ta-da! All done.
Thanks so much for visiting today . . . and check back soon for the second video and the next two cards.
. . . thanks to Distress Oxide Inks, a cloud stencil, a cute bat stamp, and my Cricut.
{Supplies used are linked in the text in this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your support!}
Here's a quick video for ya, too:
Okey dokey! The first thing I did was a quick search in Cricut Design Space to find some spooky Halloween images. And lo and behold! I found exactly what I was looking for.
Take this card for instance:
I just knew that the Spooky Forest Luminary from Rob and Bob would be perfect. So, I added the image to my project mat and sized it to 5.5" x 4.25" and let my Cricut do the rest.
In the meantime, I started inking up a background using Black Soot, Seedless Preserves and Wild Honey Distress Oxide Inks.
I didn't use a mini ink blending tool like I normally do; instead I used a round sponge that I cut into wedges. (I get the sponges at Michael's. They come in a 3 pack and only cost $3.00.) I very lightly dabbed each of the colors onto a piece of gray card stock. Once I had the base layer of ink down, I used the cloud stencil and applied more ink with a heavier hand. After I was happy with the clouds, I went over the panel again to blend some of the areas.
I adhered the Spooky Scene on top of the background using my Ball Point Glue Pen and Tombow Multi Mono Glue. I did trim the tiniest bit off the spooky scene just to show a little bit of the gray card base.
Ta-Da! All done!
For the second card, I had my handy little Cricut cut out the Happy Halloween image from the Dimensional Scenes Spooky Hollow Cartridge. Now then, I gotta tell ya, there is an arch and few more wrought iron spikes, but I trimmed them off so the center would be more open.
For the cloudy sky, I used the same inks as I did for the first card. Then I adhered the Happy Halloween cut out using my liquid glues.
And those bats! How cute are they?? They are from the Witch Way is the Candy stamp set from My Favorite Things.
I stamped them onto a piece of Neenah Solar White Card Stock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored them up with Cool Gray Copics (C1, C3, C5 and C7) and I colored the inside of their ears with R00 and R20.
After I cut them out by hand, I adhered them to the front of the card with foam tape. Abracadabra! All done!
Oh, hi! So, my intent for this card was to finish it in time for one of the challenges that My Favorite Things had going for World Card Making Day . . . but I'm a little late to the party. Admittedly, my muse decided to take a vacation without me, so I haven't done much stamping lately.
On a good note, the challenges from WCMD definitely gave me the boost I needed to get back into the swing of things. For instance, these very colorful Hippos.
{Supplies used are linked in the text in this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your support!}
And, there's a video, too:
So, why is there a rainbow of Hippos? Because the first challenge that My Favorite Things had for WCMD was to create a card with a rainbow; either literally, or using the colors of the rainbow. And I thought that a bunch of colorful Hippos would be ever so cute.
So, I started by drawing a line with a pencil so I could get those guys (sort of) in a row.
Then I stamped one of the Hippos from the Happy Hippos stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock. I did a little bit of masking so some would be in front of the others.
Once they were stamped, I colored them up with the following Copic Markers:
Red - R24, R27, R29, R59
Orange - YR04, YR07, YR09, YR18
Yellow - Y13, Y15, Y17, Y19, Y38
Green - G07, G14, W4
Blue - B02, B04, B06, B18
Purple - V12, V15, V17, V09
Nostrils and . . . toenails? Do hippos have toenails? - C5
Ground - E42, E43
After they were colored, I stamped the sentiment in Smokey Gray VersaFine ink. I adhered the stamped panel to a piece of gray card stock and then adhered that onto a white card base. Viola! All done!
Oh, hi! Happy October! I'm back with another Halloween card with a background technique that I love. Although, you will see in the video that things didn't go quite as planned because I was distracted by a movie I was watching.
{Supplies used are linked in the text in this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your support!}
Oh, no . . .I certainly didn't come up with this technique on my own. I saw it on Instagram. . . or YouTube. . . I can't remember which. But when I saw it, I really wanted to try it out. And even though I was distracted by a movie, I'm still really happy with out it turned out.
So, a huge thank you goes out to Antonia at Taffleberry Lane for the inspiration!
Okay, back to the card. After I was done with the background, I colored up the image with my Copics. (colors listed below). I created a mask to cover the image so I could add some "stars" to my night sky.
I kinda went back and forth about how to create those stars . . . I almost used a White Gel Pen, but that would take forever, so I opted to use my Mr. Huey's Opaque White Color Mist. And that too almost turned into a disaster.
I shook up the bottle really well and when I took off the cap, ink splattered all over my craft mat. I'm so glad my card wasn't anywhere near it.
Anyway, after I cleaned up the mess, I applied the mask over the stamped image and sprayed the white ink. While that was drying, I ran a piece of black card stock through my Gemini Junior with an A2 Scallop die from Honey Bee Stamps (you guys! These seriously are my favorite dies right now).
Once the white ink was dry (and I did help it along with my heat tool, because I'm not too patient when it comes to waiting for things to dry), I ran it through my die cut machine with the same die. Using scissors, I cut off the scalloped edges from my stamped panel. The stitching detail from the die makes it really easy and the rectangle fits perfectly inside the black scalloped panel.
Finally, I put it all together, and Viola! All done!
After I colored her, I used the Classic Ovals Dies by Spellbinders to cut her out. Then I cut a piece of yellow card stock using the Classic Scallop Oval Dies, also by Spellbinders.
I used foam tape to pop up the ovals on a piece of patterned card stock measuring 4" x 5 1/4". I adhered that to a yellow mat measuring 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" and finally, onto an A2 top folding card.
It's the most wonderful time of the year! You guys! The first day of fall actually felt like fall! It was cool and cloudy and rainy. That's pretty unusual in these parts . . . and, it appears that it's not going to last because we're going to be right back up in the 90's this week. But, I'll take what I can get.
Along with fall comes Halloween! My absolute favorite! And there are so many great Halloween stamps out there, too! Take this one, for example:
{Supplies used are linked in the text in this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your support!}
Who doesn't love a kitty in a hat, scarf, and sweater just chilling on a crescent moon wrapped in purple ribbon??
Oh yes, there is a video, too:
Okay, so this stamp is called Witchy Kitty 2 and it's by Impression Obsession. I know, I know . . . I've said it before, but gosh, you guys, I just love images that are unique. And there are a few other Witchy Kitties too, just in case you need more than one. (because, I do!)
Anywho. . . on to the card:
I stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on to Neenah Solar White card stock. Then I colored it up using Copics (colors listed below). And then. . . I got stuck. Seriously, I sat and stared at it for at least 20 minutes before figuring out how I was going to finish up the card.
I knew I wanted to have clouds in the background and I also knew that the only way to do that was to use my Cloud Stencil. But, I didn't want to get ink all over all that coloring I just did, so I made a mask.
I just stamped the image onto a piece of scrap paper and used my Zig 2-Way glue pen as a temporary adhesive. Here's an important note: The glue is only temporary if you let it dry before placing over your stamped image.
Once my mask was in place, I used a sponge and very lightly dabbed VersaFine Smokey Grayink all over. Then I went in with my cloud stencil and sponged more ink. I applied the ink pretty generously, but only along the top edge of the stencil to keep some separation between all the clouds. After I was done, there were a few spots that need more gray ink, so I just did a bit more light dabbing in those areas.
When I was happy with my cloudy sky, I removed the mask and I gotta tell ya. . . I was really happy with how it turned out! I was going to use Black Soot Distress Ink, but I'm sooooooo glad I went with the gray!
To finish up the card, I adhered the patterned paper to a piece of black card stock and adhered that to my card base. Then I adhered the Kitty to a piece of black card stock using liquid glue and added that to the card front with foam tape.
I really did have every intention on having a video to go with this card. But, I forgot to turn the camera back on after a short break. . . sooooo, there's no video. I know, I know . . . bummer.
But, I still wanted to share the card, because I'm really happy with how it turned out.
{Supplies used are linked in the text in this post. Compensated affiliate links may be used at no additional cost to you. Thank you for your support!}
After the coloring was done, I used the Fancy Edged Oval dies from Spellbinders to cut it out. I adhered that to a Scalloped Rectangle that I cut using the Scallop A2 Frame dies from Honey Bee Stamps.
I adhered that to a piece of patterned card stock measuring 4" x 5 1/4". I wanted even more yellow, so I adhered it to a piece of yellow card stock measuring 4 1/8" x 5 3/8".
And finally, I adhered that to an A2 Top Folding card. Viola! All done!
